At Koshaa, we aspire to bring authentic traditional Indian flavors to the heart of the Parklawn, Lakeshore area. Our aim is to serve these dishes that pay homage to India’s rich cultural history, with a focus to provide exquisite Indian delicacies and exceptional service in a contemporary family-friendly setting. As enthusiastic food connoisseurs, we believe in curating our dishes to perfection.
‘Koshaa’ is derived from the Sanskrit language which describes five layers of a body:
Food, Energy, Mind, Intuition and Bliss
In ancient teachings, each Koshaa brings a person to complete awareness of his/her true self. Our hope is that through the experience of our food we take you on a similar journey, peeling the layers representative of your taste buds to achieve flavorsome bliss.
Our menu is curated to bring in the authenticity of Indian cuisine which is freshly prepared every day using high-quality local ingredients.
Ushmeet Bhutani – Executive Chef and Co-founder
With more than 10 years of full-time experience in the food industry, Ushmeet is the executive chef and the co-owner of the restaurant. Ushmeet started his career as a chef in Hilton hotels in India and since then has worked as a Head Chef at various hotels and restaurants in Toronto including a well-known Indian restaurant on Danforth and in the Entertainment district.
Ushmeet has studied food as part of his graduation and post-graduation studies. He is a hospitality graduate from International Institute of Hotel Management in India. He has also completed his post-graduation in Culinary Management from George Brown College in Toronto which equipped him with a wide range of knowledge about the Canadian food industry and culture.
Vineet Thakkar – Co-founder
With more than 8 years of work experience in the fields of finance, marketing and sales, Vineet oversees the operations of Koshaa. Although he is new to the food industry, he is an avid food enthusiast and is excited to ensure that customers have a great experience at Koshaa.
Overall, with such a varied and extensive backgrounds of its founders, Koshaa is determined to provide a great culinary experience to its patrons
